Coventor at COMS 2010

Hands-on Workshop
http://www.mancef.org/MEMSCAD_workshop
This hands-on workshop is intended to support the education community, such as professors and graduate students, to increase their working knowledge of MEMS CAD and tools for MEMS design.
Coventor, the leading provider of MEMS design-automation software, is organizing a workshop at COMS 2010 to give the attendees a hands-on experience of creating a MEMS transducer and characterizing it using a new design platform called MEMS+. MEMS+ provides MEMS and IC designers with a common platform for MEMS+IC design and Co-Simulation within industry-standard simulation environments.
Conference Session on Packaging and Systems
MEMS devices offer great potential for continuing the pace of miniaturization that began with Moore’s Law. They have already enabled great advances, from safer cars to digital projection, and are increasingly revolutionizing the way we interface with the latest multi-function consumer electronics. But MEMS design has for too long been confined to specialists who use an ad-hoc design methodology with little or no connection to electronic design environments.
Only a few large IDMs are well positioned to benefit from this rapidly growing market. This is due to the specialized expertise, long development time, and high costs of bringing MEMS devices to market. Although almost all MEMS devices are tightly integrated with electronics, either on a common silicon substrate or in the same package, MEMS design has traditionally been separated from IC design and verification.
Coventor will be charing this session on Monday August 30th with speakers from the MEMS industry.
MEMS Design Scholarship
Every year Coventor challenges students from across the world to submit a detailed description of their research for the upcoming year. The organizers of the COMS2010 conference will judge the proposal submissions and select 4 project who will receive a 1-year free license of the CoventorWare Designer and Analyzer software.
